Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I'am seeking information on the Stonecutters Island (mid 1980's) Sikh Unit who policed the Island. (ADP?)

If I rightly remember the Island was at the time an RAOC sub depot?

What happened to the Sikh Unit? Do they possibly have an association? Anyone with any information?

    Thanks in advance.

Edited to add Sikh Army Depot Police, Ammunition Services, disbanded Sept '94 (thanks for that info)
  2. A few months ago I was using Goole Earth to look up my time in Hong Kong.
I tried to find Stonecutters' Island but was unable. A couple of hours later I was having a drink with an Old Hong Kong Hand and mentioned that Stonecutters' had vanished. He Pizzed himself and said look again it was incorporated into the mainland yonks ago.
  3. :D I did the same thing John. Was sent this linky, thought you might enjoy it.

    StoneCutters Island Reclaimation/disbandment of ADP

Colin Aitchinson's albums on Picasa, he has a number covering, the BMH, Blackdown Barracks, Sek Kong etc.

The above is at present the only information I have on the Depot police (disbandment parade) , still some of the other pictures there brought back some happy memories, take a look.
