Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. When I did the really brain drain of an "Enviromental duties" course at Keogh Bks, we were always taught to filter water first. They said the chlorine tablets are good and need to be used, but if you don't filter the water first, the tablets will attack the large particules, rather than the chemicals that could be in the water.
Oh and yeh - water with chlorine tablets in it tastes like crap, in case you'd never tried it!
  2. Very odd. It seems to use metal salts as disinfectant. Most water treatment systems try and REMOVE metal salts, not add them!
