  2. I believe the German Army held 9/10ths of Stalingrad at one point. Short of winter clothing and supplies, it all fell apart very rapidly.

Any ideas what the AFV/Self propelled gun is in the 6th photo down, marked as ' Stalingrad 1943 | Reconnaissance Mission ' ?
  5. Amazing photography, thank you for sharing, it feels as if you are there.
  6. looks like an SU/85 built on T34 chassis
  7. The only stuff i´ve read on Stalingrad was the book by Anthony Beevor (sp)... if what he said was right, cap doffed to the troops of both sides. Fecking mental battle of wills between Hitler and Stalin with hundreds of thousands killed in the wake :(

Very interesting stuff in the Military Museum in Moscow on Stalingrad, great place to visit if you get the chance

A quick snap to the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior - sorry its off topic but thought it might be of interst.

and I may have got my pics mixed but I believe this is in memory of the Battle for Stalingrad (out side the Kremlin)
