I believe the German Army held 9/10ths of Stalingrad at one point. Short of winter clothing and supplies, it all fell apart very rapidly.

The only stuff iÂ´ve read on Stalingrad was the book by Anthony Beevor (sp)... if what he said was right, cap doffed to the troops of both sides. Fecking mental battle of wills between Hitler and Stalin with hundreds of thousands killed in the wake
