Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Sri Lanka lose 5 early wickets all of them trying to play attacking shots.

Following the shocking and disgraceful attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore, surely now it's time to bring the War on Terror straight to the heartlands of Pakistan.
    We should nuke Bradford immediately!

Police investigating the Sri Lankan Cricket shootings are said to be stumped.

  2. Pakistani Sporting Policy:-

If you can't beat 'em, cheat 'em.
If you can't cheat 'em, shoot 'em.

  10. Pakistan's cricket board have proposed that all test matches ending in a draw should be decided in future by a shoot out!

  11. I don't think you're taking this seriously enough. It is a clear contravention of Rule 42.

    6. Dangerous and unfair shooting
    (a) Shooting of fast short pitched bullets
    (i) The Shooting of fast short pitched bullets is dangerous and unfair if the umpire at the bowler's end considers that by their repetition and taking into account their length, height and direction they are likely to inflict physical injury on the striker, irrespective of the protective equipment he may be wearing. The relative skill of the striker shall be taken into consideration.

So. Fair do's against the escort but a bit naughty against the players.

Clearly they needed to have exerted more care with their use of automatic weapons.

(ii) Any delivery which, after pitching, passes or would have passed over head height of the striker standing upright at the crease, although not threatening physical injury, shall be included with shooting under (i) both when the umpire is considering whether the shooting of fast short pitched bullets has become dangerous and unfair and after he has so decided. The umpire shall call and signal No Bullet for each such delivery.

I just hope that they take care when using mortars ...

    (b) Shooting of high full pitched munitions
    (i) Any delivery, other than a slow paced one, which passes or would have passed on the full above waist height of the striker standing upright at the crease is to be deemed dangerous and unfair, whether or not it is likely to inflict physical injury on the striker.

    or grenades
(ii) A slow delivery which passes or would have passed on the full above shoulder height of the striker standing upright at the crease is to be deemed dangerous and unfair, whether or not it is likely to inflict physical injury on the striker.
