Reply to myself! On their way back it seems. Great
I think the lack of sleep and time pressure will be biting now. I think Thomas knows he's gone wrong, but seeing everyone following him is making him doubt it.

If so most odd the PW used to be clearly defined on the approach to Windy Gyle .

Looks like they're OK, but 258 Richard Whittaker is now going off piste

Wonder if this mist is down? A lot of nav issues going on.
Any number of factors plus the fatigue probably.

I almost think it’s worse for these guys who just scrape through the timings, as opposed to the racing snakes who finished days ago and are now tucked up in bed.

Good to see that those now left on the hill should be in before cutt-off assuming they just push through at Hut2.

I have never heard of this race before nor it's athletes. And yet I am glued to a web page watching dots having a ding dong battle. This is pretty epic.

Thank you ARRSE.
Yeah. It can get a bit intense. It's surprising how much emotion you can invest in a blob on a screen.

Back home now - this was not to be my year

The conditions on the Kinder Plateau were brisk to say the least, Kinder downfall was jump able but the wind blowing the water back up created a 100 meter diameter rain storm

The darkness, rain and wind started just as I was coming off Laddow Rocks, it was relentless. On the tops combined with localised mist it made for some difficult navigation.

Most streams were fast flowing and quite high, I know that runner (MRT Race) after me got to Dean Clough just below the road at Wessenden and decided not to cross and took a detour it was crossable but you had to look for the submerged stones on which to step across in fact that was the method of crossing most of the streams

The ground being waterlogged already rainwater was just running down the foot paths. the paved parts were just turned into continuous streams

I got to the M62 cross over and was timed out, the safety team decided that I would probably not get to CP in time.

The dislike is for a 'local' failing to finish, not for you having the balls to try. Congratulations for getting as far as you did.

A group of 5 are walking close to each other and are about 1 to 1.5 km from finishing .... hope they all do before 08.00 .
