Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I know that JSP states that those who receive specialist pay will have it withdrawn if they sign off but just wanted to check if anyone else is still expected to carry out that specialist role once the money has been stopped?
  2. Yes you are.
  3. SP EOD was reduced to 50% if you signed off.

Things might have changed since last I looked.
  4. They have. Now you lose it all as soon as you submit your notice (unless you are exercising an exit-point option).

And,yes, Short one, a few of my oppos have been in the position of having lost SP yet still having to do the thing that the SP was for. None of them have been happy about it.
  5. Well once I sign off and my para pay stops I shan't be throwing myself out of a plane. If they make me I'll jump out without my parachute. That'll learn 'em.

  6. Stick it to the man my friend. Mind you, you're living in hope that they'll have the aircraft to ask you to jump let alone make you.
  7. Count yourself lucky you get SP. every ****** parachutes nowadays - so hardly specialist.
  8. Yeah, even that fat navy chick gets SP for her parachuting ability.
  9. Sport parachuting is nothing like military parachuting. Not even in the same league.
  10. That'll be why she gets the extra money then.
  11. I'm not on about the world, but the Army. SP exists to encourage the filling of capability gaps. It seems to me lots of people want to do their jumps (many just don't want to do P Coy). That being the case, where is the gap?
  12. I was going to make a new post but spotted this.
I remember reading about parachutist pay being scrapped what came of this?
Was about a year ago but never saw anything confirmed.
  13. Pictures!
