Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A rumour has circulated that the Supplier trade is undermanned and if the number of personnel in the trade does not rise in the next few months all Suppliers will be placed on higher band.

Can anyone shed any light on this rumour?

    Is it true?

  2. Yes it is true, as you are well aware all trades that are OPP automatically move to the higher band. It's only fitting and proper that all OPP CEG's get this free cash as it is well known that your job suddenly becomes that much more brain intensive. In the case of Supplier's it is well known that you need to have a degree in engineering and mathematics to be able to function correctly.

You have also failed to mention that this will be funded by removing the Higher pay scale from all the other trades who are already Higher Band etc because, let's face it, the money has to come from somewhere and while those trades swan about not being OPP undermanned and technically challenging, suppliers are still not sexy.

Please feel free to load your credit card and splash out on a new flatscreen wall for your quarter.

  3. Very interesting, the Scaley Backs are bun fighting & willie waving over this as well at the moment about Operator & Spec pay. An operator switches the tranny radios on apparently :? and a Spec is trained to lay cable, which according to them a 8 month course :? So if we put the Really Large Corps into the same bucket, you will see your pay leap up to about £37.00 a day :? Which in todays money is alot when you compare it to a Polak working in the local Aldi stacking & checking out :D If you Loggies, had tried harder on the entrance test when you joined, you would have got a better job, paid more & got promoted faster. So just accept what you have & think yourselves lucky that you havn't been contracted out to a civillian company, which may not be to far from reality

  4. Aw don't be mean. I think your worth it Madman, we could have an arrse whipround for all the stackers and tappers out there. I'm happy to chuck a quid in, let me know where to send it. Come on lads and lasses dig deep you know you want to.

  5. I am quite happy to dig deep with you there...In fact the deeper the better then we could put them all in the same fcuking hole............No I'm being harsh having worked with some of these people there are indeed a small minority who are good at what they do and do deserve recognition (so well done and give yourselves a pat on the back) but higher pay band Fcuck off you're having a laugh..........

  6. Lets not beat about the bush here people, ask yourselves this, do we need this Corps, answer sort of :? 'The Pie in the Ear' corps were uesful but underpaid. Only Bandies are below you lot, so get stacking & counting or what ever you do

  7. Knobby Bum Breath Geordie Tit 8)

  8. Oy Test Tube thats enough...........Calm Down :x

  9. Not a fucking hope. After sup cons and sup specs became one trade we were all promised (like skiing with frank) that there was going to be a review on us getting the higher pay band because sup cons used to be on it and now we are doing two jobs, naturally like everything it was all a load of bollocks.
Its all shite anyway they have higher payband to make those on it feel more valued when in reality they don't paid a decent wage but they're doing better than us.
I for one don't actually want to go on the higher pay band I'd rather they changed my trade name to combat double hard bruce lee sup spec rambo, I'm sure more people would join up if they would just change the name.

  10. you mock but pay increases or bonuses have been used in the past. We used to get a 10 k bonus for becoming a class tech, is slowly dwindled down to 5 then nothing.

Of course, I can´t say whether or not it will be used to help the above trade, but...

Why do the RLC have two trades that do the same thing anyway? Surely one needs a cull.

  12. @Stacker1

They have just changed the job name and I placed it in the title for you when I placed this post. I really don't know why they merged the two trades because the comment you made clearly said it all. There is the reason why stackers were left in the warehouse and sup cons were in the office doing the tech work. Just so you know and so this doesn't confuse any more stackers out there, the new name for Supplier is Logistic Specialist (Supplier).

  13. Supplier is Logistic Specialist (Supplier).

The reason there job is getting harder is because half of the trade cant read, write or count, but thats what you get if you lower the standards of entry into the trade.

  14. Some of the fcuking suppliers themselves need culling, theres a guy at my place who as thick as fcuk, he was asking advice about how he could apply for his new quarter on posting. Maybe its me, but its not the sort of thing he should be struggling with seeing as he is a selected Sgt 8O
    W4nkstain.

  15. I wish that was a joke but I know several storemen (and women) who are dyslexic, because the army can't discrimnate they get oral exams, Fucking great until you get some irate QM on the phone asking why he's got 12 sets of body armour instead of 21.
