South Africa gone down the Zimbabwe route.

Dr David Owen comes over as one of the most double dealing creeps of the 1970s. Labour in the UK from Harold Wilson onwards sold out white (and eventually black) Rhodesia due to the prevailing Marxist ideology of Labour.
I’m reading same book too perhaps... A handful or hardmen. And yes, David Owen comes across as hell bent on selling out the Rhodesians to the Marxists.... even in the face of the slaughter of innocent people... the fist downing of the viscount and subsequent barbarity towards women and children survivors is shocking.

It is the start of a realization of the impact and consequences of what they proposed and is a big improvement to be frank. It's somewhat hard to dial back to sanity instantly. Meanwhile this still nueters the patriotic people's front or the peoples patriotic front or the front for people's patriotism..

If you're thinking like a mlungu, possibly. Long term planning doesn't feature in a big way in Africa. What I can have right this instant will always trump what happens tomorrow.

Malema counts on that.

A hunter gatherer society never planned for a 4-5 moth winter and storing crops. They lived day to day.

Evolution in Africa did not prepare them for thinking ahead.

Yup, no surprises.

What is also no surprise is the issue of new banknotes to mark the descent into third world multiple zero stylee inflationary fuckwittery. When a country's banknotes have the image of a politician representing a single political party, you're getting close to a third world banana republic dictatorship. The saving grace on the SA banknotes was the Big Five portrayed on the other side.

The Big Five have now been completely removed from SA paper currency and a politician representing the ruling regime is the only thing on both sides of the notes. Not long to go before the value of the Rand is around that of Zim, Venezuela and other socialist success stories.

Sad thing was after Zimbo became Zimbo most Affs had some savings.

I remember in 84 going into a Bank in Bulawayo I think to change some “Travellers cheques” .

Old Zimbo next to me with his bank pass book was proud to show me he had four thousand dollars for...

It’s my pension Boss. Good hay.

Shame it went to nothing in the next years.

Yup, the guys who got hit hardest were the ones supporting the thieves and thugs and voting them into power. Too blinded by tribal/racial loyalty to spot the train wreck heading their way.

Same in SA. The very blokes who vote the pilferati back into power at an election will be the ones rioting, looting and burning stuff because the ones they vote for are stealing from them. A few get filthy rich while the majority take it up the mudbox. (Edited to add...) Of course it's understandable how the real culprits are able to swerve sanction from their followers and still hold on to power - They just find a minority to blame for everything that's gone down the gurgler since the day they took office.

The most arse clenching, mind boggling, brain meltingly fuckwitted thing about it is that the masses will still cheer on the ones raping them and laughing at them while they do so.

Well they've been murdering farmers since long before the Zim land invasions and in far greater numbers so it was only a matter of time.

Of course investment will dry up overnight now. Wonder how many jobs will disappear as a result? Long term planning has never been something Africa does well, if at all. The begging bowl will be passed around your neck of the woods shortly when the consequences for this fuckwittery become apparent.

Funny how there's still nothing but tumbleweeds and crickets from the luvvies in nice safe western countries who agitated for this to happen.

I see the ZAR is now worth half what it was 5 years ago against the $ & not much better against the £.
Heck, it's even lost a third of its value against the Rupee.
Of course the ****s in charge wont care, as all their purloined loot will be in anything but ZAR...

Despite the shoeing the pound got against the Euro, post Brexit, it is creeping back up again.
SA a good holiday destination lads, before it all turns to crap.
SAR lost about 12% against major currencies in the past 3 weeks.

I should be over second or third week in August next year, if the game concession I'm looking to book with hasn't been confiscated...

Another combat indicator is when political leaders ditch the Western suits and ties and adopt this frankly bizarre 'Coat of many bright colours' dress code that includes portraits and the brightest of bright coloured shirts and nobody bats an eyelid... (I couldn't find copy of Ramaphosa in the ridiculous - to western eyes - shirt he was wearing during the election but this will do. Mnangagwa and him are interchangeable )

Mandela was already doing that long before the ANC took power in '94. Had the luvvies swooning alles uber die platz. Tourists (those who escaped mugging) are still buying tat like that for stupid money at duty free on the way home from JNB Intl.

Story of the day, and one which sums it all up...

28-year-old, third-year accountancy student, gets her 'grant'.
Instead of R1400, she gets R14 MILLION!
(in pounds, about a thousand quid, vs a million quid. Let us keep this simple)

Charge sheet details ‘Manibags’ NSFAS spend splurge

so, what does she do?
Call them up?
Nope, goes out and spunks away R20K in the first few hours.
Over the next while, she jizzes away R800 thousand.

Crazy.
But wait - she is head of the PAC (Pan African Congress) student body.
Only when there was a whistleblower asking how she had R13MIL in her account - the silly cnut posted it on FaceBook! - did anyone investigate.

Now, one wonders why nobody picked this up before, doesn't one?
Also, the student card was somehow over-ridden, to allow her to buy booze and smokes and other stuff...

Though she might get favours for favours with higher levels of the PAC, I don't think any of them will stick their necks out for her now it's the Hawks' case.
