South Africa gone down the Zimbabwe route.

Probably beyond the life-span of many on here, but it will be interesting to see the reaction when the first Chinese are murdered once Africa is annexed into the PRC, and their police and military wipe out around 5,000 blecks in retaliation.

It will be the Chinese fault for not looking at Colonialism from an African perspective

Well I certainly expect to be still alive and kicking in mid 2022!

The trouble is the surviving 'blecks' in their millions will be flocking towards Europe saying 'asylum, asylum, refugee, refugee' not that they aren't already.

Pissed and moaned to get rid of the nasty oppressive mzungus because FREEDOM!, now kicking and screaming to be allowed to cross the channel then pissing and moaning about being oppressed once they're in the UK.

Menkle.

The only thing the BBC has done about the Farm Murders is to publish, a few years ago now, a 'fact check' article which did it's best to undermine the truth of what's happening.
A criminal gets shot by police in the US and the BBC goes ape, white and black farm workers are murdered in SA and it completely ignored.
Not just the BBC - no one in authority here is interested.

Of course. The riots back in the day were portrayed as the entire country on fire. Most never saw one as it was generally confined to small areas where the press were told it would happen and things went relatively quietly until they turned up and it kicked off for the cameras.

More people were affected by crime in the neighbourhoods than riots.

The media are a bunch of manipulative drama pimps, nothing more.

This guy's blog gives a very good idea of how much a fcukup present day Zimbabwe is. He runs a horticultural nursery outside Harare and the blog describes how he copes with the corruption, shortages, power cuts and using two currencies with fast changing exchange rates. He is a home grown Rhodie, got damaged during the war and suffered more damage when para gliding.

Zimbabwe Absurdity

28 horses attacked by protestors at Fairview racecourse in Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela bay - appropriate). Hacked and stabbed with machetes and one was killed.

Was it Gandhi who said you can judge a people on how they treat animals?

Anything in the media in the rest of the world?

What a day in the history of animal-cruelty in our city. 28 Fairview race-horses savagely assaulted, 1 fatality from a broken neck. And the reasoning - violent protests against unpaid UIF Ters fees. There is so little humanity and reasoning left in this brutal world. The 28 horses have been stabilised. Some were stabbed, hit with pangas and knopkieries, while others sustained broken jaws and leg injuries. Our AACL Inspector was there, as was the Horse Unit and SAPS. The SPCA will investigate further with a view to opening a case. Daron Mann will cover the full interview tomorrow morning on MannMade Radio. There can be no excuse for this brutality against those who cannot speak for themselves. Justice must prevail.

What are UIF Ters fees?

Unemployment Insurance Fund. Something like your NI. Only applies to unemployed workers for six months after they've been in work and no longer working, and only for those earning less than a certain amount.

We discussed this on the phone, and you're fully aware of my thoughts on these matters...

Let's face it, Mohandas Karamchand was no fan of us, and not for animal welfare reasons either.

It's a shame the root cause of these problems and many many others can't be summed up in one word.
Still there you go eh.

I bet they are still trying their luck at the British embassy to get here rather then the Chinese embassy (even if they could get into the place which I doubt) to go there.

It always struck me as a bad move to say how wonderful it is in the UK. As we all know, when you have somewhere good (be it to visit, live, enjoy etc.) you keep it to yourself. We would have been far better off promoting Britain as a war torn, disease infested, crime ridden, poverty stricken hell hole, and even though it has become that it is too late to play the card now.

May seem like a bit of thread drift, but bear with me.

There is a Dredd set called Sin City, where a floating fun palace moors off the coast where literally anything goes. At one point a group of circus freaks (muties) are caught pretending to be corpses in body bags awaiting return to Mega City One, so they can smuggle themselves in. When Dredd asks them why they want to go there they wax lyrical about how they heard what a wonderful place it was. "You heard wrong" says the great lawman, and then tells them why. But once he leaves them, one persuades the others that he must be lying in order to try and put them off. So it was probably even better than they originally thought if they were trying so hard to persuade people not to go!

The point is - the hope over-rides anything else they get told to the point that it was probably worse telling them the truth as it only reinforces their misconception.

National. It's hardly a force any more with such a high incidence of HIV that they can barely field enough complete units for UN ops without artfully manipulating figures. All that lovely UN money is very tempting indeed.

Renaming it a defence service has drawbacks though. SANDS sounds a bit like they're all lazing away on holiday.

Oh, wait...
Slight, but tenuously-relevant, drift: whilst working in Burundi in 2005 for "that Big Organisation" to insert several regiments of a couple of previously-same-nation sub-continentals into Eastern DRC via Bujumbura, I was allocated three SADF SNCOs, one each of the major hues, all of whom were very professional, happy to work with each other, and excellent at dealing with some of the "insertees' " recalcitrance and foibles. To a man, they all forecast that upon two things happening the SA rush down the gurgler would increase in rapidity ... The two things? Nelson and Tutu shuffling off ... so if all we need is the latter to go, the pace must surely accelerate!

Did you ever meet JD there? Local bloke married to a Saffer, K, and they have a daughter. Had some epic braais at his place. Top bloke.

Strange one does not read of this sort of thing on the BBC. No doubt this would run against their Marxist agenda.
Similarly, here in GodZone it gets bugger-all coverage either! Shameful.

Dad some epic braiis at their Contingent compound, which was next doo to the one we were using to consolidate all the inbound/transit equipment we were moving into "deepest, darkest" .. . but the Castle and Primus have increased the effects of time, and dimmed the capacity of the little guy cells! I don't remember many names, but the hospitality ... oh, the Hospitality!

Can you blame him. We might still be running India and a quartier of the world if some bonehead Afrikaner Ticket Inspector hadn't slung him off the train. Ghandi was very pro British Empire up until that point.
