Some help & info please

#1
Hey one and all i'm new to the forum so still working my way around it,

anyways

I'm looking into re-entering i was in the argyll's 1st batt infantry from 2002 - 2006.But i want to transfer over to RLC (if this can be done).

my questions

1.Will i need to go through basic again,phase 1 & 2

2.Whats basic like for entering the RLC,i take it its just the same as what i went through at cattric, plenty of beasting, basicly the **** about factor

3.I understand that phase 2 is with your unit,if so is my wife aloud to join me there,or is it after phase 2 is finished

4.During the first 6 weeks is it still just £50 a week cash in hand.

i have some other questions but this should do for now, hopefully someone can help out with some info

cheers

Go and have a chat with the recruiters in your local ACIO. Don't, repeat don't write to them!!!

Obviously your recruiters will have the final say but after 4 years on civvie street phase one is highly likily, phase 2 is your trade training so you will need to do that anyway.

Its probably changed a bit from when I went through, but we generally had it easier than the Guard platoons that went through at the same time.

Phase two will depend on your trade, Deepcut if you are a stacker/postie/AT (ATs eventully make their way up to Kineton), Leconfield if you are a driver, Catterick is you are a Pioneer, I forget where the ration assasins moved to. You won't get a quarter until you are at your regular unit.

Not sure how much it is in your hand nowdays, but pads can have their money put into their bank accounts so long as they tell the army promtly.
I was in Deepcut about 18 months ago on a course, there were some rejoins who said they were lucky as they were the last ones coming through (they went straight to phase two). That doesnt mean they won't accept you, just that your previous time wont mean much (although there is a pension angle).
