  1. Afternoon all

I'm after some advice from people who may of been in a similar situation. At current I'm in the process of applying for a commission, with the intention of starting in Sept 09 or Jan 10. I'm joining my local TA unit and start Phase 1 in the New Year. Does anyone feel that joining the TA with a view to go to RMAS within the next 12 months a waste of time or a good idea to gain experience?

The PASO and my sponsor told me it was a good idea as it would help gain experience, however, the TA Sergeant Major told me to keep my intentions of going to Sandhurst quiet for the time being.

So, going back to original question - Will I be wasting people's, and in hindsight my own time by joining the TA or is it a good way of gaining that small yet valuable experience?

    Many thanks

It's a good way of gaining experience, as all the other people who have asked the same question in the advice stickies have been told. Which is why I'm locking this thread.
