The only "official" comment has come from BP, saying it was a mixup in licencing policy. And, the officer in question was asked to change out his uniform to purchase alcohol - not refused outright because he is military.
The only "outraged" complaints that is was polically / racially motived come from unconfirmed, un-named "witnesses".
Sounds like a pile of utter shite to me.
Who wrote the piece? Oh look, Tom Newton Dunce, what a suprise.
Go in there and collect up every item in the shop, put it on the counter for him to scan, then tell him where to shove it and walk out, leaving him to put it all back.
A tosser amongst men......
From the Daily Wail What a shame that more people, especially in shops and restaurants, do not emulate this principled attendant. Those who are engaged in the war on behalf of the U.S. deserve being treated like this for the evil they are imposing on an innocent people. Perhaps, if they explained what the Afghans have done to deserve this unending occupation, their position could be reconsidered.
"We investigated the incident and believe it was caused by an error in interpretation of the licensing laws. Retraining of staff is now taking place.
BP insisted the snub was a simple misunderstanding.
A spokesman claimed the attendant thought it was illegal to sell alcohol to cops in uniform, and assumed the same rule applied to squaddies.
But witnesses who saw the incident are adamant it had nothing to do with licensing laws, and was based instead on the workers political views and prejudice against soldiers."
Retraining with what?....Harsh words.Oh hang on,we dont want to upset the cnut....
I feel so sorry for the army captain being treated in this way .
The person who refused to serve the captain should be sacked ,The army captain as enough stress to put up with , The chap only wanted to relax and have a can of beer and to be made to go home and change is disgusting .
When are people going to start treating our soldiers with respect .
