I stumbled on this report tonight, saying that the inquest was halted in March 2016:

‘Friendly fire’ soldier inquest dramatically halted over fears British soldier may have been murdered

http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/14372196.Parents_demand_answers_over_son_s_shooting/

The critical bit is this:

The inquest at Chichester was adjourned by West Sussex senior coroner Penelope Schofield under Rule 25(4) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2015, which states: “a coroner must adjourn an inquest...if during the course of the inquest, it appears to the coroner that the death of the deceased is likely to have been due to a homicide offence and that a person may be charged in relation to the offence.”

This (below) is the latest update i can find, from August 2016 - does anyone know any more please?

The findings of an investigation into the death of a British soldier are expected to be released next month.

Ongoing case mate, it's unlikely that those who can shed any more light on this will do so, until it is all done and dusted.

Re-post of my questions from yesterday, so that anyone curious doesn't have to wade through shit to find relevant posts:

Sub judice.

Might be worth not engaging in speculation on such a serious subject.

I appreciate this is the army "rumour" service but it might be better to spread rumours that the cookhouse are finally going to defrost the bread before putting it out at breakfast than the circumstances surrounding someone's death.
