A small exert from a letter in reply to G's questions about the lasck of "English" on the census


I shall attempt to answer your comments.

Firstly, I assume you are referring to the Census form that has no facility for stating English nationality. This is because there is no such nationality as English as laid down by various acts of Parliament and accession. Persons born in the United Kingdom are citizens of the United Kingdom and are therefore British/English.

Im a jock and proud of it, but how can they deny English people the right to be counted as English whilst they allow Scots, Welsh And those from NI to be counted as being from their own country?

on any form I fill in if there is no "tick box" for ENGLISH i always go for the "Other,please specify" , I am proud to be English! Is that bad?

Nah mate. Ur British By birth but English by choice. Just dont forget though that come the war we r the british army. n allthough our brotherly love forbids us from being nice to eachother. If someone picks on ya little brother you both go n knock em out!!!
