**Warning - with the hype surrounding this, if it's likely you'll get into some kind of trouble for viewing this picture I would suggest not following the links. **

With the banning of a wiki article, which included a controversial picture, what say the members of ARRSE? I's it just an album cover or is it child porn?

The IWF, which is an EU-funded non-governmental body, banned the Wikipedia entry for 'Virgin Killer', the 1976 album by German heavy metal band the Scorpions.

The girl in the image, who is now in her 30s, is completely nude apart from a cracked glass effect that conceals her genital area.
Wiki page if you're not in the UK.

Brandrepublic article where you can view the picture if you're in the UK and can't view the wiki page.

I suppose I can see where they were coming from but I think it's stretching it a bit to call it child porn.

I'm with 88, who the hell would want to discuss or be interested in this topic on this site?

Should be removed....immediately.

I thought we'd all have grown out of this 'Outrage' fad by now. ;)

Not exactly the most heavily supported Poll that ARRSE has seen.

Having read the BBC article on this, I have to say it's a fair debate. An image that has been in commercial circulation for, what, thirty years suddenly results in the censorship of a public-run website. The CDs are still on sale through major online retailers - retailers who willingly show the CD cover on their sites. The regulators offer no explanation as to why these sites aren't also targetted (although those affected suggest that commercial sites have the capital and willingness to sue them for it when it ultimately loses them business), and there's no legal call for it.

I have viewed the image and I don't intend to, but given its existence - previous and continuing - it looks to me that someone has been getting too big for their boots.

If this drags on, students across the UK will struggle to "research" their dissertations this year.

"Scorpions" and heavy metal should never, EVER, be mentioned in the same sentence!

Wether it's classed as kiddy porn? Not for me to decide, but I see no sex-aids.

I am sure Virgin Killer came out originally many years ago with a sticker over it. the cover of there other album with the chewing gum getting stuck to a woman’s tit was much better, at leat I thought so when I was 16. Not the best rock band in the world, not even the best rock band from Germany, probably not even the best rock band from Hanover.

I do not see it as porn at all. I think there are some people who are determined to think everything involving a child is paedophilia. More a reflection on them and they way their minds work than anything else. Maybe that is why they are attracted to the "child protection industry" in the first place.

old news, been out since '76

even blind faith got into the act -

having a bed full of 13-14 yr old groupies was the thing back then for rock and metal bands, just ask Bill Wyman.
