SNLR TA Regs para 5.191A

#1
Allright lads

A mate of mine in 4 PARA was discharged SNLR due to lack of attendance at his unit (not desertion just not attending weekends etc!!) - his discharge states TA Regs para 5.191A

Anyone got a copy or access to the TA Regs to see what that paragraph is as he is considering re-applying to the regs but doesn't want to look a tit if they say **** off

Cheers

I would suggest the best advice would be for "your mate" to ask at the careers office and get it straight from the horses mouth.

Good luck

NOT from an up-to-date version but until someone comes up with it, hope this is of some help. Note the cross-reference to QR(Army) para 9.414:

5.191.
a. Cause of Discharge - Services being No Longer Required.
b. Applies to soldiers who cannot be discharged under any other paragraph and soldiers who enlist for the express
purpose of obtaining a commission and who are found to be unsuitable while serving as an officer cadet. For
soldiers discharged due to reductions in establishment see para 5.206 and 5.207.
c. This paragraph is also to be used for the administrative discharge of soldiers whose circumstances are covered by
the provisions of QR(Army) para 9.414. All applications for discharge under this sub paragraph are to be made
on AF B130A(TA), and the case submitted through the chain of command as laid down in
QR(Army) para 9.414. (See also Annex A/5.)
d. The competent military authority to authorize discharge under para 5.191b is:
(1) For independent units - Div/Dist or Regional Brigade Commander.
(2) For specialist units - Commander TA/CVHQ.
(3) For discharges under para 5.191c - DM(A).
If the TA/CVHQ Commander is below the rank of lieutenant colonel discharge is to be authorized by an
officer not below the rank of colonel of the corps concerned.
