Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Dear all!

I do not want to sound like a 'wah', but my sister is getting married on the 20th of December. I start basic on the 22nd of September, I spoke to a friend in the army, and he 'thinks' that now recruits get leave at christmas. I was wondering, if this is the case.

It's kind of important, especially as I am walking her up the aisle.

  2. Hmmmmm. I've not taken your sister up the aisle for a while now ;)

You do get leave over Christmas, but I don't know what the AD- FP dates are?
  3. Damm...beaten to the aisle joke...Note to self "must learn to type faster"

I would think that it would be AD 19 Dec as this is roughly when it is each year.
  4. Christmas leave for recruits would spoil the fun, how can you be broken after a gut full of turkey? outrage ;)
  5. I start training on the 10th August and I'm getting married on 20th December.

I asked my AFCO to look into my dates of leave and Catterick told them I go home on the 19th December and return on 5th January!!

I guess this will be the same for all courses running through xmas period?
  6. Congrats Soldiertobe!

Luck lady! thanks for the info, currently in india working for a NGO, I know that you guys would know/help! legends!

    Many thanks,
