Sir Trevor Philips actually says something that makes sense!

Apologies if posted elsewhere.

Speaking in the wake of demonstrations against cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad, the chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality said that the right to offend was an "absolutely precious" part of British identity which could not be bargained away.

And he suggested that any Muslims who want to live under a system of Shariah law should leave the country.

Why did he not make his objection clear at the time, like he has done on so many other issues regarding race and ethnicity?
