Definately time for a cull! It seems that with the right number of advisors, any MP can be protected from the reality of what goes on within their constituencies. Most of the MPs on the "Tower block of Commons" were saying that they did not realise just how bad things were (and I'm also aware that this is TV and that salt may have to be taken in pinches).

Not just Him mate

Harriet Herbloke has dropped Labour in it

Gaffe-prone Harriet Harman faces an investigation for admitting taxpayers paid for ministers to drum up votes on Cabinet awaydays.
Taxpayers have spent nearly £650,000 so far on such Cabinet meetings around the country.

Dunno about UK with its dodgy public transport system, but I'm using 1st class trains in Europe more and more (and its my own money). For major European city inter-connections its now quicker than getting arsed around in the airport.
TGV Frankfurt - Paris is Euro 90 one way 1st class short notice, including a decent scoff and wireless internet so I can work the whole way (or surf on Arrse), stewardess service like flying business class for brews etc.

Don't see much benefit in <1 hour trips.

If this mong had stuck to a productivity arguement rather than babbling on about the untermensch I might have had some sympathy.........

I think Sir Nicholas and Lady Winterton should be permitted to travel First Class.

Otherwise they may have to brush shoulders with common people - you know the type: Obese, loud, tattooed, unwashed, vulgar types always wearing track suits and cramming junk food into their mouths.

How vile!

This affair highlights the isolation of MPs from the real world and should serve to limit the amount of time MPs can remain in their positions.

There also needs to be a wholesale cull of the present MPs in both major parties.Deadwood such as the cnut Winterton should have the whip withdrawn with immediate effecr.

This personal paying of the additional cost to travel 1st Class by MP's should also be driven down through Govt Depts / Civil Servants . It is a simple way of saving a lot of money and I feel sure that during the recession organisations in the Private Sector will have started this procedure or something similar already .

Why would they eat at Macca D's or BK when they can scoff in a high class "works canteen" that has been subsidised by the tax payer with millions of pounds to ensure only the highest standard and booze are served

Silly me. I work in a company, where we have to report to shareholders and nobody travels first class on expenses. And you are still expected to work. What quaint working practices we have. I am sure nothing like 99.9% of other companies, at all. Those poor, poor politicians. Really, my heart bleeds for them.

Oh, and one other thing - HOW FCUKING OUT OF TOUCH CAN ONE MAN BE?

Why do El Gordo and Lord Rumba of Rio feel that government has to go to the regions?
What a feckin waste of time money and resources just to move the cabinet to Exeter for a press party at the race course.

I know the official line from party HQ/BBC but, ffs i'm sure the local plod had better things to task their resources on than a bunch of thieving lying manipulative media whores out on a jolly.
