Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. What does it entail?
Is it just a weekend of getting fucked over and shouted at?
Or a weekend of being taught things?
Or a weekend of being tested on things i SHOULD already know?

    Answers anyone?

  2. Depends on your Regt.

But i think most Cadre's don't look at particular soldiering/Comms skills. They've got that bit figured out already from your trade/CMS(R) report.

The stands/activities will be designed to push you a bit mentally and physically to see how you react.

If you're reasonably organised, can get your ideas across to people and able to use your own skills and that of your team effectively, then you'll probably make a good JNCO.

If you lose your head at the first hurdle, gob off random stuff at people, lose things/people, are in the wrong place at the wrong time and/or generally flap, then you probably won't make a good JNCO.

    [editid beecoz i cont spel]

    Yeah that sounds like me.

  4. ^ Maybe it's time to change then?

  5. People cant change. You get smarter or you get sloppier but you don't change.

  6. Are you going to Stanta in March by any chance?

Expect command tasks, NAV EX's and some DET work.

  7. Don't know where it is, but yes it is in march.

  8. 36 hours of field to look forward to.

No contraband, no non-issued kit, kit inspection before deployment and always be prepared for a "surprise"!!

That's what the joining instructions said - wohoo. (gonna have to work hard to stash my porn collection then  )

    Anyone else attending this weekend?

  9. Probably one of the most organised (if not physical and mentally stimulating) weekends I've ever been on. We need more weekends like that (for those on the course)

    T2: See you Tuesday

  10. Yep, it was a good craic.

    Psycho survived too... unfortunately ;)

  11. Was psycho doing any EEORE impressions ?

  12. Of course not :D
