Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I'm currently in the application process for LICSG and as it is a relatively new unit, I am interested to hear of current members experiences with regard to...well, anything really, including the type of work, (in general, no specifics required), is it similar to the equivalent roles in the commercial world, what are the expectations with regard to tours, what are the time commitments, are there opportunities to go full-time, is there an equivalent regular unit, are there local secondments, as well as far-off tours, etc. Any nugget of info would be of interest.

I posted this on the 'Joining TA' Forum also but received no responses hence the repost.
  2. I think there's a few LIAG/LICSG guys on ARRSE, so maybe you might get an answer. Possibly worthwhile trawling through the Signals forum.

To be fair this is a very specialised unit, so the chances of getting a responce here is slim.

The old adage applies: phone them up and ask.

  4. You should be able to find a number of old threads on this group (if I remember the last one was quite detailed).

One thing I remember is they run weekends all over the country, so its not just going to Corsham for a weekend every month or so.
  5. Thanks for the replies, I had previously found some references but I suppose being a relatively new and specialist unit the lack of info isn't surprising. I've spoken to the recruiting officer who has been helpful so I'm happy to proceed.
