One of my gaming mates has a large collection of 40K models and has started building up a couple of opposing forces for 30k Heresy games.

Personally I think my favourite style of Astartes armour is the original Mk6 Beaky... :)
Heresy man!,

MK III, that mark that most legions fought the Heresy in works for me. Not played 40K since 4th edition, but the ForgeWorld 30K stuff is IMHO awesome, am doing lots of skirmish stuff at the mo as I have loads on the go, no time for full on battles.

The guys I game with have just started playing 40k again, but not the GW version. We use the similar and very fast play Grimdark Future rules. Rules, army lists and lots more here:

And finally, the Sabre toothed Tiger from Conan from Monolith games, another very good game that comes with a stack of miniatures(over 120).

More to follows as they get done, roughly 150 to do for Mythic Battles, Conan has 120 to do, then over 150+ to do for Mythic Battles Ragnarok when that rocks up in the new year, gonna be very busy painting wise.

all the best.

Lovely stuff! If only that lazy twat would get a move on and finish the Battlefront Cold War mod... :pissedoff:
have dived in 100%. Have Downloaded all the info and cards etc, have played BF ww2 since 2007 so no NIG as far as the rules are concerned. have built a small BAOR & Soviet force up to just play around, will post pictures once fully completed. Roughly a company group of us lot of idiots and a Advanced guard MR battalion complet with a T64B company and support.

However, I am having problems finding the following items.

FV 180 CET (as you know)
81mm Mortar teams, thiers and ours
120mm Mortar teams (soviet)
Motorcycle/sidecar combis (soviet0

Well that's two of us! :salut:

I used QRF Egyptian 120mm mortars for my Soviets. I've also got QRF Canadian 81mm mortars, but they're pretty horrible. I was thinking about using WW2 Soviet recce motorbikes (Flames of War do/did them), but haven't got around to getting any.

I was going to use the Fow mortars with the resin team yankee M113/432 mortar carrying crews, easy to get hold of. good call on the M/C combi. I am still gutted about the FV180, I only need two as I am not going to have more than a Armoured engineers field Squadron ever.......

Yeah, I've now got hundreds of those bloody SP mortar crew... I hate having to have something I didn't want...

I'll drop Geoff and Chas a line at QRF and ask what they're playing at. I've got some things from them in the past that weren't in the catalogue because they were just a pain in the arse to cast (e.g. TMM bridgelayer and AGS-17 AGLs).

Oh yea, re the m/c - the Soviet Dnepr M-750 was a direct copy of the WW2 BMW R-75, so if you can get WW2 German m/c combinations and do some head-swapping, that won't be far off the mark (but I'm too lazy...).

ideal, that would be great. I was goingv to e-mail them to see if they could cast 2 FV 180 CETs up for a price.

Here's what the QRF Canadian 81mm mortars look like... They're holding the bomb WAY too high and the bloody thing's far too big for the puny tube!

agreed, but they are USABLE that is the main thing, will have to look at what they have. nice minis by the way.

You sir, are a far better man than I. :salut:

(I don't care what the others say about you behind your back. I never believed it anyway. And that sheep was sick and would have died anyway)
well, the sheep was ok before I got hold of it, went a bit south after that, so they are slightly right.......
