In the Cultural Corner we have the 'Military History and Militaria' forum and the 'Films, Lit and All things Artsy' forum.

I think that such a prolific medium for debate and discourse like ARRSE should ceratinly have a dedicated music forum where the why's and wherefores of all music genres can be discussed.

Anything from "Why Gareth Gates doesn't stutter when singing (even though he doesn't do much of that these days - thank God!)?" to "What f**kin' tab is Jimi playing in the twelfth bar of 'Purple Haze'?", to "I wish Elvis could be buried once and for all".

Do you think the addition of a dedicated forum should be considered by the mods?

Please cast your vote above!

My tastes vary from classical to death metal..........I appreciate goodmusic.

Thats said not all opinions are the same......some have been wiped and are spotlessely and smelly clean and some haven't.

'Miserere mei, Deus' for example; sung by The New College Choir Oxford

Are you listening to Greenday or still stuck on Weezer?
American Idiot/Dookie/Green day are great........Eh...? Isn't that what I just said?

Its a shame the world only took to Greenday recently. 15yrs after they formed, they actually get what they deserve!

Why is it that the cr@p bands get the recognition ASAP, yet the good and decent ones take years!

#15
they got loads of recognition off Dookie..that's how i got into them...they just didn't seem to cut the mustard after that...other than the odd single. Besides, the music press have a good habit of building new bands up then knocking them down not so long after.

1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours & Kerplunk! were ok. Those were 91 & 92 if I am right. Dookie was 94. But then again you had to be into their frame of music.

Still a great band!! Least they have broken through!

Greenday's problem is like any other bands' problem; they have been fcucked over (in the main) by the corporate music companies. One glorious exception (and there are a few) is Radiohead, who just keep doing what they want, album by fcuckin great album!!!!

OK, I'll bite. I'd hoped this thread, now hijacked by Greenday poofs would go away but I guess a good hijacking is as good as.....

WHY do you want a separate forum? You can post music issues here, why do you want them to have their own location... And the classic Bad CO question... Who's going to MOD it?

#19
The reason that there should be a separate forum is as a result of the varied genres, likes/dislikes, social impact, current trends etc etc that is music. It is too huge a topic to be mixed up in books and films. All you have to do is think of the impact that music has on peolples lives.

Even 'Soldier' magazine has a music section - and its arrse; this could be the platform to really find out how the army ticks!

Considering my passion for the subject I would be happy to mod if deemed suitable.
