Should Britain invade Zimbabwe?(warning may contain spoiler)

Zim is not worth it,if we went in,we would be pouring aid in forevermore.

Taxes up further anyone so more aid is poured into African despots' Swiss bank accounts?.

Darwinism on a national scale; the Zimbabweians wanted us out. They wanted "freedom".

Well, be careful what you wish for, boys and girls. Bit late to ask us to pick up the White Man's Burden again...

Exactley.........f*ck em :x

No!, leave Zim to the Zimmers, they wanted self government, they got it, let them get on with it, anyway Bob will soon be dead, so lets see what comes after.

I know there are previous threads regarding Zim/Rhod on Arrse but some new "War porn" from Stephen Robison of the Daily Mail

But instead, it was another Labour loyalist who emerged from the C-17 into Harare's balmy summer night air.

Trevor Phillips rubbed his eyes and stared into the African night sky. He had missed out on the London mayoralty when his plans to be the Labour candidate were undermined by Ken Livingstone courting the popular vote in 2000, but now his time had come

Ha ha ha ha!!!

So we would replace one failed, corrupt leader with another.

All in all, the funniest article I've read in ages. Best to let the Chinese, the Saaf Effrickens and Indians sort this one out.

My thoughts exactly.

I dont think aid would be needed 'forevermore'; it is a potentially prosperous nation and could soon re-establish white run tobacco farms, and a tourism industry sufficient to lift it out of debt.

A civil war would be better- it's been a while since I've seen some good old machete work on Youtube.

Replace the bold with Afghanistan and Islamic and it's a truer statement, isn't it?

At least Zim has some resources that could make them self sustaining pretty quickly. Apart fom illicit drugs manufacture, what has Afg got? Sand, goat shit and scrap metal left over from 30 years of war?

Pull out of Aghanistan. Decompress for a year or so, then invade Zim.

I mean Trevor Phillips* is an awful man, but he is better than Comrade Bob, and will be looking for a job soon anyway. The further away he is from us in Blighty, the better I think

Its also worth noting the demographic future of Afg is pretty scary too. Afg civpop was 18m in 1979. Its now 35m and is one of the fastest growing in the world. Given the tribal nature of the jihadi's it will be like cutting the head off the Hydra. Every insurgent the coalition forces kill will be replaced by 2 brothers!

*Yes, I know it's a joke.

Hello pot, this is kettle...

I suggest you might like to go and live on boiled tree bark for six months in a nation where the average lifespan is 35 - that might give you some perspective as to what a 'destroyed' country is.

Why, in a few years there will be no one left alive there, starvation and AIDs are pretty good long term weapons, Think of it as a long old time siege, wait long enough and then we just drive in and clean up without firing a shot

I'm getting a funny feeling of deja vu here... :? ;)
