Short University Courses (2008 DIN07-088)

I've managed to blag myself onto one of these courses (that is relevant to my specialisation and hopefully Postgrad studies) in the not too distant future and I was wondering if anyone has done these courses in the past?

If so, did you find them worthwhile? Did you get much from it? Would you do it again?

From the pre-course admin I've been given, there seems to be a few heavyweight lecturers taking part and I have to say I am looking forward to it in a terribly geeky 'I like international politics and other interesting stuff' way.
Mate, I've done 3 or 4 of these courses (to get my carcass out of the office as much as anything else). They are outstanding value; you get put up in decent student accommodation (if that is possible!), meet people you wouldn't normally meet and the subject matter is normally v interesting. You'd probably pay a grand for one if you worked in civvy life.

Cap all that with getting to go out on the ale in a University town and chat up student chicks; what's not to like?

Hope this helps; PM me if you want any more gen
I have done two of these courses; Weapons of Mass Destruction and Global threats and Cyber Terrorism.I agree you get to meet some heavy weight lecturers, the accommodation at Cambridge Madingley Hall was superb and the opportunity to go on the lash in Cambridge and meet student chicks was awesome.Plus having these courses on your CV raises some interesting questions. PLus the chatham house rules really do reveal some eye opening facts. Specially the MI5 geek and GCHQ chick talk about Faraday Cages and TEMPEST controlled areas.

Plus the networking is fab as it is a tri-service course + MOD personnel.
