Shoebox Parcels - Contents

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A family member is serving in Afghanistan, I'm intending to send out a goody box, however apart from the obligatory porn mags, I don't have a clue of what would be really appreciated out there.

    Any suggestions for contents.....?

I sent a mate a load of thin M+S socks, dehydrated sports drink stuff, a USB pen full of movies/porn/series etc. A Pack of ginger biscuits, a cornetto in a tupperware tub (to piss him off!) and loads of little bits and bobs he'd asked for.

To be honest, I think he just wanted to get some post!
  3. Try looking here on the Support Our Soldiers website for advice. A cheap Tupperware-type box is better than a shoe box because it can be reused in situ.
  4. Cheers BB and DS, Like the USB Pen, things have moved on :)

I don't really know the lad, but he's family, so he's having a box, whether he likes it or not. It will have to be generic contents. Music wise, I'm thinking of copying "Bat out of Hell", what squaddie of any age could fail to enjoy that!!!!!!

    So far then.

    In a Tupperware Box

    USB Pen - Movies etc
    Copy of Viz
    Bat out of Hell
Packet of Biscuits(custard creams), I think Ginger Nuts are an acquired taste.

    Some tidy socks...from millets perhaps

    Keep em coming

Send an washed out empty whisky miniature bottle & tie a tag to the bottle neck saying something like "Contents removed by BF Post Office...(Thanks!)"
  10. If I was to sneak a cheeky bottle into the box, would it be sussed....Hypothetically of course!!
