That and the fact that we have moved down the evolution line somewhat in how we view each other, well at least in the west. This in and of itself opens up many avenues of discussion regarding how we view ourselves as civilised when you look at what we have done over the say past 200 odd years, i.e the genocide of the native Americans in the expansion westwards, ww2, French. Indio China & Cambodia to name a few, I will not even mention the Middle East and how that place has been since year dot.
Yes agreed, it's much more to do with the evolution of how we view each other, than simply to do with the existence of firearms and more food.

If you're of a genocidal mindset, you can quite easily withhold food, and firearms simply make mass killings that much "easier".

What has made the difference is firearms and increased food production.
We can now guard and feed prisoners whereas before we would require almost as many guards etc as prisoners.
Nope, those factors only make a difference if the potential perpetrators want them to make a difference.

Actions like this are some of the many reasons that a/ I hate people, and b/ often think that the human race are a lost cause.

German IS bride convicted of war crime over Yazidi child chained in the sun to die of thirst

Kraut convert to Islam and ISIS bride leaves a 5yo girl, yup that's right, a 5yo girl, tied up outside in the heat of Fallujah during the day. I've flown aircraft over this part of the world and even with that level of airflow it was insufferable. Poor, poor child.

I genuinely hope this Boxhead bitch rots. Cervical cancer would be nice.

Mosul. But yes, is 10 years a deterrent for all the other F-wits in the West looking for a gap year genocide opportunity.

Islam, the religion of peace eh...........cancer is to good for that piece of scum, an acid bath I think is more in line with what was allowed to happen to that little one.

No. Never, ever, no matter how drunk or how desperate. The pair of them need to be headlined on the "Danger F*cks" thread.

Look on the bright side.
Not much chance of child maintenance payments . . . well not for long anyway.

More chance and choice than the camp inmates.
According to a documentary about the SS photographer in Auschwitz, the SS guards could request a posting away without fear of negative consequences, other than a possible posting to the Ostfront, but that could and did happen to anyone. So the staff did have a choice.

Call it. 10 years for murder of a child. Not enough.
It wasn't technically murder, which would have attracted a life sentence automatically. Not sure what the exact charge was, failing to assist a person in distress rarely attracts a custodial sentence, the maximum being one year anyway. Accessory to murder maybe?

Nowhere enough is being made enough of this aspect of IS's administration & application of religious law.

The reason why this girl ended up as a discardable possession for some random genocide tourist is because an entire people got eradicated; the men murdered & the women / children enslaved. By IS's laws, the poor girl was nothing more than a mere possession & that fact that she lived & died in a state of extreme neglect is / was of no consequence to IS & it's soft support networks.

the current thinking now is that once you compare any modern situation by bringing in the Nazis, you've already lost your argument.

That's because the left don't like being reminded that one of their own socialists lead to the holocaust

I think the Boxheads used some War Crimes legislation they have on their Statute Book which covers crimes committed outside German territory. WW2 legacy type thing. I just wonder if this was in the UK we could have put her on trial, let alone get a conviction?

Germans who commit offences outside Germany that would be punishable in Germany can be prosecuted anyway. eg assault, rape, child abuse. There have been precedence cases for all those offences. I'm just puzzled as to the exact nature of the charges laid against her. Meanwhile her husband is awaiting sentencing in a different court, it would appear that he committed the actual offence of leaving the girl out in the sun to die.

Reports that crimes were -
war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Don't know if our War Crimes legislation here in UK would stick in this case?
