I suppose we must sympathise. Take British troops, for example.
They’re in Afghanistan fighting for a corrupt and incompetent government that seeks to use all means at its disposal to stay in power.
The leader of the regime lacks a credible electoral mandate, and he promotes the illusion that his country is striving to be a democracy.
Of course, the Karzai government also has its faults.
