Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Sgt Masterson is credited with capturing the first ever French 'Eagle' from the 8th Regiment at the Battle of Barossa on 5th Mar 1811.

For his heroic efforts he was made an Ensign and eventually made the rank of Captain. Thereafter the trail goes cold.

So - the question. Does anyone know where he is burried?

  2. Have you asked his family?
  3. His Grandson James won the VC in the Boar war.
