Sexual predators in Parliament?

He may not know if he wasn't the one viewing porn.

If the viewer logged on to his PC using a different user account he would not be able to see their browsing history.

If "they" used his account (did he share his login details?) the browsing history may have been deleted.

The recent revelation that some MPs share their log in details may cast enough doubt to get him off the hook.

That said, the coppers revealing this information are creeps and untrustworthy. They may be retired but I would not give them a job sweeping floors, let alone anything with access to sensitive or personal information.
A huge 'hear hear' to your last para there

The massive hoohar over police actions in the matter are being hugely played up today by Conservative politicians and the pro government press. They have known about it for the last month but remained reasonably quiet hoping that Green would ride it out.

He hasn’t because he lied, not because of ex cops gobbing off about him. He just didn’t have the basic integrity to humble himself and be truthful.

The faux outrage is being used to distract from The DPM being caught lying. The other MPs don’t really care, it’s another job for them.

Davies floated the idea that he would resign. Probably to stop May sacking him. He hasn’t resigned and it makes him look like he is full of bullshit.

Anyway, Green gets £17,000 as a pay off for being a liar and returning to the back benches. Seems fair to me, exactly what happens in other Public Sector jobs when you are demoted /sacked for misconduct.
Stop. Now you've gone too far. I've been out of the country for a month, and am only now catching up on this - excellent - debate, largely between yourself and Leo Roverman.

But to refer to 'faux outrage' over the conduct of Quick the Shit, and the other fella, even if in that context you are limiting it to Conservative MPs and pro government media, is just plain wrong.

I am outraged by their abuse of (previous) office. You seem to concede yourself they have brought the Force (you can shove 'Service' where it belongs) into disrepute.

And, I'll wager there are plenty of MPs - on all sides - who share that view, be they allies of Green, or more likely not.

The bigger issue is the societal one of lack of personal responsibility, and the level of sexual and other misconduct.

I would disagree; to my mind it's more that people are likely to be caught out nowadays. Not forgetting that right or wrong, we live in the era of the new puritans where what used to be viewed as perverse and immoral is now lauded (or at least accepted), and views, attitudes and actions which were accepted (if not lauded) in years gone by are now viewed as most heinous social crimes.

Yers, I wouldn't be surprised if Vaz resurfaces.
Is the investigation into Vaz really stopped? I read that it had only been suspended due to his illness. It should be resumed as soon as he's fit enough to start claiming expenses again.

Regarding Green's computer, the story has taken on a life of its own with Green allegedly thrapping furiously in his office 24/7 and Sun journos trying to examine the underside of his desk, carpets, curtains and ceiling with a UV light.

The original story refers to thousands of thumbnail images on the disk. These could be ads on web sites that he has no control over. I mean, a picture of a woman in a swimsuit keeps popping up on Arrse but it's an ad for a company selling womens' swimsuits. (Damien, if you're reading this and need an expert witness ......). Porn is best downloaded in full screen and high res or so Jarrod tells me.

More likely the thumb nails are images innocently returned by Google. Perhaps DG is a bird watcher and typed impressive tits into Google. And where's the video porn? If he's an Olympic class onanist he'd surely have some of that.

At the time DG was arrested, his office was being swept for bugs every week, such were his concerns about security. If he was giving out his password to all and sundry he deserves everything that happens to him. It doesn't just allow people to download porn in his name. They could have falsified emails, impersonated him on line, issued bogus press releases or accessed personal information about his constituents. This is why sharing passwords is a sacking offence in many companies. You can't sack MPs but fining them £500 every time they cause a security breach should focus their minds.

Passwords are well past their sell by date as a security tool. Companies now issue their staff with hardware tokens, often built in to a chip on the company ID card. There's no reason why Parliament could not do this. MPs could also do with some "custom" IT training courses given their unique occupation:-

It seems Spider-Man creator* Stan Lee is now under the microscope for alleged sexual misconduct.

If you're a rich or well known man and someone accuses you of acting inappropriately in the past how do they intend to prove any of these allegations? Do they hope you'll crumble under public scrutiny & settle out of court to avoid any embarrassment?

Surely they would need some evidence of said actions otherwise it's merely hearsay.

Pardon my cynicism but it smacks of a compensation feeding frenzy.

*I know he's not an MP but to Hades with starting a new thread.

Has anyone notice how nobody seems to fit their name anymore? Stan Lee should be a northern club comedian. In the same way, Gary Oldman should be a singer in a British boy band. Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles, however, are second division footballers of the 1970s.

I think that would be taken as read. After all the Police have taken out two Conservative scalps, that's why it's highly political, besides I haven't heard Starmer screaming, nor any other labour party bigwig for that matter that Vaz should be investigated.
The police would rather go after Field Marshals! and pander to 'Nick' it get them quicker onto the promotions ladder!
