Severed fingers of 5 hostages delivered to U.S. officials in Iraq

BAGHDAD _U.S. authorities in Baghdad have received five severed fingers belonging to four Americans and an Austrian who were taken hostage more than a year ago in Iraq , U.S. officials said Wednesday.

The FBI is investigating the grisly development, and the families of the five kidnapped contractors have been notified, American officials said on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the case publicly.

  2. Maybe the hostages are being cunning and sneaking themselves out piece by piece that will learn the hostage takers not to let there guest send presents home.
  3. Thing is, when one chops one's own noggin off to post out the torso it's pretty much endex...
  4. Maybe they were just trying to make a hand to lend the yanks to get them out?
  5. Some of you guys are just classy. When it comes to dead or possible dead Americans, all the crass jokes come out.
  6. Why thank you,
here is some more of my sage wisdom,
never go out with a bird unless she has a car and a washing machine
if in any personal difficulty always drink thru it,
if you dont laugh you'll cry,
    and never eat yellow snow.

Remains of 2 US contractors recovered

By SCHUYLER DIXON, Associated Press Writer 2 hours, 24 minutes ago

DALLAS - The remains of two U.S. contractors kidnapped in Iraq more than a year ago have been recovered, the FBI said Monday, weeks after families of several long-missing men gained hope that they might be found alive.

Ronald Withrow of Roaring Springs, Texas, and John Roy Young of Kansas City, Mo., were among six Western contractors kidnapped separately. The disappearances received new attention this month when the severed fingers of several men were sent to the U.S. military in Iraq.

Several relatives had taken the discovery of the fingers as a hopeful sign, including the father of Jonathon Cote, who remains missing.

  8. not good
  9. I don´t think the rerturn of severed body parts is ever a good sign.

More likely it was a ploy to get the hostages back in the news, back in peoples minds, ready to be executed.
