Job Description
Ground Support GSE Technician-11408
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Ground Support Equipment technician at our Heathrow Workshop reporting to our Senior Workshop supervisor.
The successful applicant will have served a recognised apprenticeship scheme and attained ideally NVQ level 3 qualification, or equivalent, in Heavy Goods Vehicles maintenance and repair. A LGV license and experience in hydraulics systems and pneumatics would be advantageous.
A five year continuous employment record is essential as the applicant will be required to have an airside security pass. Must be able to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
This role will be shift based so different hours will be expected to work.
Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on ASIG’s fleet of equipment at LHR to include M.O.T, heavy goods vehicle tests. Carry out repairs to defects found on checks and breakdowns as required. Liaise with customers when required. Assist airside technician when required.
  • Responsible for the safety of themselves and others by complying with ASIG safely directives and adopt safe methods of work.
  • Responsible for accomplishing work based tasks in line with, ASIG’s expectations to a high standard and on time.
  • Must recognise the unique challenges in working within an airline services environment.
  • Must remain flexible and adaptable in the face of a dynamic, fast paced and changing business.
  • Must demonstrate the highest level of attendance and timekeeping.
  • Must be open and honest in all their dealings across the organisation.
Role Requirements:
  • Have a good working knowledge of airside operations and procedures and Heathrow Airport.
  • Have a thorough understanding of airside health& safety regulations and procedures
  • Have an understanding of quality control procedure
  • Be an excellent communicator and possess first class organisational skills
  • Be able to work consistently under pressure
  • Be a team player and demonstrate initiative in dealing with situations
  • Hold an airside Driving License and Airside Pass
