£43,000+ plus benefits and car allowance
Edinburgh with international travel
The service support manager reports directly to the commercial manager responsible for all aspects of the office I projects and support activities. The key to this role is the management and delivery of the necessary support to clients, whilst protecting the company’s commercial interests on future and ongoing programmes. The service support manager shall work with the management team to develop contacts and relationships with clients in ship dock yard and other facilities in the UK and internationally and shall actively seek out opportunities for the company’s products and services. This exciting role requires both local and international travel.
Tasks and responsibilities
Line management
The service support manager has line management responsibility for :
· Technical support manager
· Off site supervisor
· Technicians, off site and head office
Responsible for leading the team and managing the department
· Ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clearly understood and that all personnel remain motivated and well focused
· Co-ordinate daily work activity, assign staff and prioritise work load
· Manage and control department expenditure within agreed budgets
· First point of contact for any grievance and responsible for discipline absence management holiday authorisation and associated record keeping
· Responsible for ensuring that all departments will policies and procedures are documented maintained communicative understand and adhered to
· Responsible for health and safety of personnel and ensuring a good general standard of housekeeping within the department
· Managing business development opportunities with assistance from the sales and commercial departments
· Responsible for input enquiry and bidding process including maintaining accurate orders forecasts
· Managing the estimating submission and negotiation have proposals to a successful conclusion
· Management of contracts generating projects and maintain the activities
· Reporting a company contract reviews on the status of contract and projects
· Co-ordinate in company internal activities and resources required to support off site operations
· Customer liaison on all commercial and programmed issues
Strategy and policy
· Provide the on-going development to improve and grow the business
· Provided forward thinking knowledge on all aspects of the department
· Provide the upkeep and health and safety working practices and policies as required for all off site working within the various shipyards and facilities
· Provide necessary training and development performance appraisals and succession planning
· Maintain project whisk assessment and risk management registers for all project contracts

Organisation and structure
· Maintenance and development of the required organisation structure for the department
· Provide planning including initial formulation and on-going maintaining activities of projects and customer orders suitable for execution within the company
· Resource planning for all off site activities
· Monitoring project progress and reporting against schedule
Reporting and meetings
· Participate with the formation of the department five year business plans
· The tender and report at the monthly contract review and process
· Provide a monthly report for integration into main directors board reports
· Provision of lessons learned feedback meetings as required
