  1. Hi All,

I was recently refused a specialisation nursing course and one of the reasons was lack of residual service.

When I applied I had 5 years remaining and I was under the impression that I would only need a minimum of three years payback.

I have been looking for the relevant JSP that I would be able to quote as I am thinking of filing a Service complaint.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or know of the relevant JSP?

    Many thanks

  2. How long is your course? and what affect does it have on your career if you do not have this course? Is it a necessity for you to have it for the job you are in at the moment?

  3. How long is the course, when does it start and how long is the payback?
A few people have been caught out by that little lot. An example that I vaugely remember being course length 4 years, 4 years payback but doesn't start till the next year. minimum needed in that case was 9 years.
You'll also need to consider how many other people apply with the same qualifications and may have more time left to serve, the potential for them to 'pay back' more than you may have let you down.

  4. 3 year nursing course + 3 year payback = 6 years plus time spent waiting to get on course probably nearer 7 then.
