Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I know this is going back a bit, I meant to sort this out ages ago but forgot

This appeared on a few of my colleagues' pay slips in January. Does anyone recall ever signing up to such a scheme? I certainly don't. I'm a charitable sort, don't get me wrong, but I do like to be asked, rather than informed of donations I have made/intend to make. Is there a time frame within which these issues are normally expected to be cleared up?

  2. Off the top of my head this sounds like the Army Dependants Trust (ADT). You would have signed up for it during basic. You would be a mug to stop it. For that measly £8.75 per year, your dependants will receive a cheque for up to £10,000 within 48 hours of your death.

  3. Well said, that man!
