Interesting. Not sure what the US stance on things like Phones in theater .

There could be use for some apps, I know a medic who had a app on his phone that he used as a reference for drug interactions and stuff. I'm sure a mate has a civi sniper app that did calculations and stuff.

Given the fact that yank military networks appear to be quite easy to hack into, I can't help but think that this is a very bad idea...especially as it is to go on bog standard iphones and android phones.

A very large portion of the US's manuals are not classified or restricted, it's why they're online on many websites like Globalsecurity. Plus some of the apps like 'translation app' have no need to be restricted. The 'phones are out there, they might as well use 'em. I think it's a good idea.
