Sending post to Op HERRICK

Sorry if this is the wrong forum?

I have a friend out on Op HERRICK and would like to send him some post,
I.E. box of goodies

I'm in the TA could i sent post out free by Royal Mail, if so could some one point me to some INFO about it please?

Thank you
Just give it to the Al Qaeda, they'll deliver it by air mail.

Joking :p

They can just manage flip flops.

All the best though, it'd be a huge morale boost.
I was at the Post Office today and is as of this coming Monday that all post to Afghanistan and Iraq is free but the normal 2 kg weight applies.

HM Forces Mail: Free mail to UK Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan

From Monday 3rd September 2007, customers can send items to friends and family serving in Iraq and Afghanistan for free. From Thursday 8th November 2007, the service will be supplemented by the standard pre-Christmas free postage scheme, operated by the British Forces Post Office™ to wider destinations.

Relatives and friends in the UK may send items only to named service personnel or entitled Ministry of Defence deployed civilians at specified BFPO numbers.

The free service applies to first class items up to 2kg, not including Special Delivery. All items must be posted via Post Office™ counters, and should not be posted in pillar boxes. Please note that normal BFPO restrictions governing the maximum dimensions and content of items apply.

Commercial firms and support groups should not use this service; it is for relatives and friends only.

The free service applies to the following BFPO numbers:

210, 221, 276, 368, 434, 452, 632, 635, 639, 641, 661, 684, 715, 755, 758, 764, 767, 772, 792

The existing freepost services to hospitals supporting the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan remain in place.
