The heart of the site is the forum area, including:
Can I send a package to a US friend (whatever their equivalent of BFPO is) in Iraq from the UK?
You should be able to send provided you have their APO address.
I'm sure the people at the Defense Attache's Office in London could help:
How about Brits attached to US forces? Friend of mine about to go out.
Do we have a post link to say, 1 MEF, or do we need to use the US address?
Any posties about?
Go on, tell him again. You know you want to.
MSR, have you tried asking your PSI?
You, crazee guy
It's in there. The parcel goes to the BFPO office in the UK then goes to America to the APO office, then gets sent from America to theatre. Takes about three weeks.
I send mail to my mate in the US army currently in iraq, you just have to pay postage costs from the uk to the states so £1.35 for letters under 40g currently.
Make sure you put a return addy on though and a customs label if youre sending anything other than a letter
Is this free?
Probably not for you
If you live near a yank base they might be persuaded to put it in their mail system.
I don't. Oh well, 'so long and thanks for the special relationship*'
* Geo-politically, not personally.
It's as free as the BFPO system - you just have to pay the postage to the BFPO sorting office, so the same price as sending any UK mail.
What are the weight limits? 2kg again?
