Sending large files

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I've got a bunch of files I'd like to send to my sister in America. Some pictures and shit and an home movie from when we were kids. The pictures are fine but even zipped the video is about 67MB.

Tried using rapid share but she can't get it to work... Gmail wont do it...

    Any ideas?

  2. Post them on t'interweb and tell her how to use ftp to get them
  3. Facebook
  4. You could always use a file splitter, too.

Put all of the files into one zip, then split the file into 19megs a piece (I think Gmail max is 20megs) and then email them to her, and tell her to use the same software to put them back together.
  5. Yes, a torrent is a good idea but as these are personal files so you don't want everyone on the internet downloading them. Not sure you can just have a torrent for one person to use. Be careful with this idea., check out the details first.

Used that on tour to send large batches of photos home. The 'Free' service IS free, I only got about 3 Emails over 3 months asking if I wanted to sign up for the full version, which I didn't.

You upload your files and it sends a link to the recipient(s) to download them.

    Roberts your fathers brother.
