Segway Company owner exits this life on his segway

Sad way to go, but I gather that he was a generally good bloke who put a lot of the money he made with Hesco back into local industry, charity and so on. I always thought that the Segway was up there with the Sinclair C5 as a useless bit of technology, though.

I've of the belief that a third wheel would have done the trick, instead of hundreds of internal motors.

A stupid looking machine (I have seen the Rome Police patrolling on them and they looked very embarrassed) but this guy was quite a big donator to Help for Heroes.

It's a shame, seems like Mr Heselden OBE was one of the good guys.

Hesco Bastion, who build the barriers that protect our blokes in Afghanistan, have become the first Official Partner of Help for Heroes. We’re delighted that they’re already fully on board and are the headline sponsors of the Heroes Concert, which has been organised in support of H4H.
Linky.

Seems like he was a very nice guy.
