Security Vetting Officers - Afghanistan

RONCO Consulting Corporation is seeking experienced Counterintelligence Agents, Interrogators, Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Collectors, or Police Investigators to support security vetting services in Kandahar Airfield (KAF), Afghanistan. The successful candidate will conduct investigative interviews of Third Country Nationals (TCN) and Local Nationals (LN), with or without interpreters, and recommend adjudication dispositions. This position is located within the relatively safe confines of KAF, but involves working and living in an arduous environment. Accommodation, Meals and RLS is provided.

• Conduct exhaustive investigative interviews of TCNs and LNs, and write reports to document results
• Interview persons of interest, as directed by higher authority, as part of the vetting process
• Make adjudication recommendations to the Force Protection Screening Cell
• Identify information of intelligence value and document results in intelligence reports
• Detect other adverse information (criminal activity, contract violations, etc.) and document results in memorandums for record
• Make referrals to Counterintelligence Team, International Military Police, or other security entities
• Enter information in the Biometrics Automated Toolset (BATS) system
• Research socio-political, atmospheric, and historical events in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and peripheral countries to identify pertinent security-related issues and trends
• Research country-specific documents, such as passports and driver’s licenses, to determine their authenticity
• Give briefings to Senior Investigator, Security Officer, or other force protection officials
• Attend security meetings and provide case-specific briefs
• Interact courteously and professionally with customers, both military and civilian
• Perform other vetting tasks as directed by Project Manager, Senior Investigator, or Security Officer
• Conform to all company and in-theater regulations and ethical standards, including those pertaining to dress, alcohol consumption, classified material, and professional relationships

• Secret security clearance (or higher) from a NATO member country
• Three years field experience in Counterintelligence, HUMINT operations, Investigative Interviewing, Law Enforcement or Special Forces (must present proof of experience in use of investigative techniques)
• School-trained CI Agent, Interrogator, or HUMINT Collector; OR ASOT-trained Special Forces soldier; OR Law Enforcement Officer; OR Customs/Immigration Officer (must present proof of training in investigative techniques)
• Ability to pass a medical examination to CENTCOM standards
• Fluency in English (verbal and written); must be able to write detailed, grammatically correct, and accurate intelligence, operational or contact reports (non-native English speakers must pass English speaking, listening, reading and writing tests at the NATO STANAG 3-3-3-3 level)
• Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat; ability to use scanning equipment and software
• Ability to deploy to Afghanistan for at least one year; must have ability to obtain a passport
• Current and valid driver’s license
• Ability to take and pass initial and random urinalysis (screening for illicit drugs)
• Self-starter, with high degree of initiative and motivation, and able to work independently or as part of a multi-cultural team (must present letter of reference)
• Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and responsiveness to local environments

Other highly desired qualifications include:
• Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Pashto, Dari, Urdu (Hindi), Turkmen, Uzbek, Turkish, Persian Farsi, Arabic, Russian or Tagalog
• Operational experience working with an interpreter
• Military deployment or work with an international security or peacekeeping organization
• Working knowledge of the Biometric Automated Toolset system (BATS)

These positions are located on a working NATO military installation with security restrictions. The working environment is confined, isolated, and austere. Travel outside the installation is restricted. This is an unaccompanied overseas position; families are NOT allowed to accompany employee to the remote worksite.
