Other than the word Rescue (SAR and CSAR elements of JPR), the 2 are not remotely similar.
No sh*t Sherlock, however the USAF use HH60, with PJ’s for civie rescue. We need a professional dedicated JPR squadron if we are going to be deploying the CSG.

We are never going to develop the JPR capability to go sausage side in contested airspace. (And no, we were never going to with the unfunded, made-up 28 Sqn lot either).

There is a 2015 documentary about the last summer of SAR cover given by 771 NAS at Culdrose - here. I do not know if it is on YouTube. Note the way the crews speak of the training opportunities it provides - and seagoing RN helicopter crews need SAR skills.

These people just can’t help themselves.

Probably because they are just perfectly suited Audi-driving executives contracted in for a couple of months........ but really.....?

“will build on the current UK SAR service to provide a market-led tailored approach to search and rescue in a more cost-efficient and innovative way”

What’s wrong with just saying “We think this helicopter is really good, please come and try it out for a week or so”? Which is something they would inevitably do anyway.

Anyone conversing in management-speak should be bayoneted into the nearest faux oak desk and pictures sent directly to me.
