I wouldn't have put it past Hattie Jacques to have banged both Eric Sykes's - she always struck me as a woman with a healthy sexual appetite and an awareness of what she wanted in the bedroom. If either one of the bold Erics had been on her list, they'd have been de-breeked fairly sharpish.
Didn't she break poor John LeMesurier running off with his driver, or actually not running off but bringing the bloke into his house to live with them?

Right old minx

A 3,000 man KG of Das Reich was left behind in Russia when the main part of the division had been withdrawn to Southern France for refitting in November 1943. The KG returned to the Division in Febuary 1944. It only had 39 men fit for further action when it paraded.

LSSAH was withdrawn from II SS Panzer Korps straight after the battle of Kursk and sent to Rome in Italy where the Eyties had just jacked it in. They handed their remaining armour to the two remaining divisions in the Korp - SS Panzergrenadier Divisions Das Reich and Totenkopf. These two Divisions carried on fighting on the Russian front as the Germans carried a fighting retreat from Southern Russia from a series of hammer blows from the Red Army. DR was withdrawn for refitting in France and TK joined the 5 SS Panzer Division Wiking in IV SS Panzer Korp.

LSSAH was refitted in Italy and returned to Russia in November 1944 when it took part in the fighting retreat. It was withdrawn from the Eastern front for refitting, a hollow shell of itself to Northern France and Belgium in February 1944 and committed to the Normandy campaign against US forces in July 1944.
Roger that, DR mixed up with LSSAH, should of known better.

Yep.
And apparently many many more rogerrings beside.
There was always a rumour that Le Mesurier was a left footer/switch hitter, and his marriage(s) had a whiff of lavender.
May be. But a fine actor nonetheless.
And Hattie? Certainly paved the way for outspoken comediennes. So next time you see Jo Brand, thank Hattie.

Similar rate of biff chits to annual fitness day for the clerks and chefs in 16 AAB.

Is that the actor Sir Anthony Quayle?
He was an SOE Liaison officer in Albania for a period of time

So that's how he played such a successful spy in "Ice Cold in Alex"? Oh, wait...

Anthony Quayle (who had some powerful social connections) was also involved in organising resistance in the event of a German invasion in 1940. He spent a lot of time in North Northumberland that year.He was no walt.

And that looks awfully like Gregory Peck on the right. Are you certain you haven't stumbled across a still from then Guns of Navarone or something like that? ;)

It was to illustrate that the pipe was a habit not just a pose
