Thanks guys they have been really helpful.

Having photos of both aircraft does show up some idiosyncrasies between 1096 and 943. 1096 has solid rods on the rigging and double control wires on the tail flaps which 943 does not have. 943 has turnbuckles and 1096 doesn't. I have read that turnbuckles were not use on British aircrafts.

I'm assuming that the tappet cover is off for display only. I had also not clocked that there was rigging lines crossing in front of and behind the MG.

1096 was in the hanger, the one with the rocker cover off was in the workshop area.

And an Albatros, and a Bistol M1C and, well you get the picture. If you like vintage aircraft it's the place to go.
