Scousers - can they sink any lower?

You mean like the Man City Supporters did at the Semi- Final. Not so much condemnation from the likes of the Daily Mail about that though ^~

Just pointing out that something someone suggested already happens and citing a high profile incidence.

Sections of Liverpool supporters have been booing the national anthem for decades, so not even remotely close to whataboutery.

Good try though ^~

Seemed to be a very large section.

Also some people on here try to justify it.

This is a new one on me.

I probably don’t knock Scousers anymore than any other region but I do trust that those folk who despise England and the state will all decline accepting the benefits and other support they receive.

Whinging gits.

The origins of why the red half of Merseyside boo the national anthem can be traced back to the 1980s.

The red half traditionally are Scouse Huns, you know, Loyalists, Orange Order members.
You couldn't make it up.

Probably been done to death before (apologies) and I am sure someone will put me/you straight rather quickly but I thought the Liverpool were 'affiliated' with Celtic and therefore very much NOT Loyalist, Orange etc.

The Blue side (Everton) have the Protestant (affiliations) Liverpool Catholic.

It doesn't make much sense to me that Loyalists (Liverpool, NI or Lemington Spa) would boo the National Anthem.

Confused of Tun Wells (Swindon supporter to boot)!

Everton is the Left-footers/Irish Tricolour waving/Fenian lovers team.
Liverpool is the Proddy Dogs/Chocolate Orange eating/The Sash My Father Wore singers' team.
The familial & religious links to each team are fading but that's how it's supposed to be.
Taking that lot into account is why I thought it amusing that Liverpool booed the national anthem and the Evertonians sang it. As I posted, you couldn't make it up.

ps Did you know Everton originally played at Anfield and were Liverpool's landlord before they sold them the ground.

pps Also that the Liverpool Irish were raised 40 years before the Liverpool Scottish.
Truly Liverpool is a topsy-turvy world, Mr Gilbert. Indeed, Mr Sullivan; indeed.

Note to edit, missed the apostrophe but can't be arrsed. Want me tea and toast.
Another edit, correct efit to edit.

That apparently is more about The State "ignoring" Liverpool.
It's more to do with the sad and pathetic individuals who will do anything to be part of the mob.
Taking MrShanklyboots for example, instead of saying he disagrees with the booing but can't do much about it, he defends it, because it's his mentality to do whatever the "big boys" do.
The same with repeating "Socialist liverpool" while supporting a club packed with millionaires.
Or "Scouse, not English" but are happy to be in an English leugue and follow the national team.

That's why the city has a bad rep, not so much that bad things happen there but it's inhabitants defend it rather than trying to improve it.

A bit of thread drift, the bold bit. You have my deepest sympathy. I've suffered nearly forty years of grief from my Mrs who been a life long fan and has indoctrinated my three sons to support the Robins through thick and thin even though they have never lived anywhere near the place. My son in Brisbane streams their games. I know, I'm a failure as a father.

The boy sounds charming.

During one interview session he told an officer “shut up you nonce” as he was questioned, although following legal discussions the jury was not told that.
