Right, is she really that stupid? In the following year where would she get the money to pay for the new higher salaries (and pensions)/ I don't think £600k (if they found it again) would cover it.

She and her supporters (which isn't the majority of Scots despite the number of SNP Seats) have launched this 19 October date knowing full well that it's not going to be given approval by Boris.... it'll just be another way of drumming up support for SNP by pointing out the nasty 'English' spoiling the futures of those gullible enough to think Independence will be Nirvana.

I'm Scots but live in England so wouldn't get a vote. Part of me is getting to the stage though of allowing Independence to happen at the drop of a hat. If Sturgeon and her ilk thought that Brexit has been a clusterf*** then I'd relish the amount of squirming that would be going on post-Indy as they struggle with a new currency and borders and 1001 things they haven't truly thought through yet...

Likewise, live in England, married a fine English rose who I will be calling 'Sassanach' if we ever move up. And that's not happening while those fascist little c***kwombles are getting voted back in. When your party founder was a Hitler sympathiser, it tells you everything you need to know about the SNP sort. Given half the chance they'd probably be chatting up Putin.

Anyhoo.. how about a 5 year trial run. Full fiscal autonomy, own currency, borders the lot... then if they still want indy after that, have at it.

Fortunately, I think the majority are smarter than the average Nat and pray to high heaven they get papped out finally at the next election.

This wasn't so much putting the case for independence, more a desperate last throw of the dice by an idiot who has backed herself into a corner she has no way out of.

The "irrefutable mandate" comes from not having a majority parliament and less than 50% of the vote (even if you include the greens) The proposal for holding the next general election on a single manifesto issue, when the legal bid goes tits up, makes me laugh. That's what the SNP have been doing for 2 decades and they haven't achieved it yet.

More student politics from the grievance party. And what was all the clapping about? Despite repeated calls from the presiding officer, the SNP back benchers continued to behave like a student union sit in. Yet even more evidence they are not fit to run a regional council, let alone a country.

If only the 3 main unionist partys would work together, she could be sunk without trace.

I agree with some others, Boris should call her bluff and allow the referendum. My sincere apologies to those who may have to move South, but I'm sick to death of these twining neds.
