Scottish Politics Thread

No doubt, the EU would require Scotland to have a hard border on gaining membership of the EU, along with adopting the Euro, being part of the EU army etc...

It would be up to Westminster if they wanted one with Scotland, I guess it would depend if there was any leverage in annoying the EU by not having one

But seeing as we've left the EU so don't have to follow all their diktats now, unlike the vassal state an 'independent' Scotland desires to be it could get interesting

On the plus side, Carlisle and Berwick will become garrison towns again......

Not as such but I know that NHS Scotland has various dealings around Veterans, I posted a link to a survey on employment in the NHS by Ex Forces.

Had another email today looking for ex Forces to tell their stories of employment in the NHS.
Well Col Charlie obviously needs to up his game, if none of us veterans have heard about him what is he up to?

Some of us veterans are aware of him, or the post anyway.

Google gives

And here's the 2020 report on ScotGov support for veteran community

And here's all the contact details for the Scottish Veterans' Commissioner (established 2014)

NHS Scotland has a new whistle blowing policy to cover that sort of thing.

The National Whistleblowing Standards came into effect on 1st April.

This was interesting:

Some interesting research still going on in the area, shame that there always seems to be plans to build houses on it

In that case I shall propose Eastwood also remains in the UK.

It would be interesting to see if local authorities/regions would 'refuse' to join an Indy Scotland - a lot of people/commentators outside Scotland have zero clue about how divided we now are between Indy/no Indy and SNP/everyone else

- I genuinely hate everything the SNP stands for and Indy and I really dont know what I would do if the idiots managed to force Independence. I'm pretty sure I will sell up and leave Scotland but I also have elderly parents to consider but without them I would absolutely leave as there is nothing else that would hold me in a country that would be completely riven with hatred and on track to third world status in very short order.

- never in my lifetime and in history has a socialist run state been a success because the people in charge s only skillset is ideology and the purveyance of division and hatred - divide and conquer . When it comes to economy and the management of actual 'things' eg schools, nhs, police etc they literally have no clue apart from more ideology, now sadly mixed with wokeism and even more racist and class division as deliberate policy

There's one positive thing about this: the cost of producing it will have emptied a few more of their coffers, unless Kim Sturg-on persuaded some other gullible lottery winner to part with their cash.
I wonder if @2x30 has found the “missing” £600,000 yet?

I’m sure he would have told us ...........
