watching the news tonight , looks like the scottish government are about to take ownership of the Ferguson ship yard
Yahoo! going to be interesting watching it cost us millions , to save 350 jobs, and save face

Are they going to privatise Rosyth and Faslane to protect the 12000 odd jobs when we get our independence,
On the face of it it would seem that the aim is to get the ferries completed and in use. Reading the news the takeover would protect 300 jobs (50 have already gone due to contract labour), finish the ferries and as we have already spent so much, a little more won't make a lot of difference. The problem comes once the ferries are finished and in service. As one union official said, due to EU law getting new contracts could be difficult due to state aid laws.

So in X number of months/years the SGov will have a shipyard which can't build ships due to the EU law which they need to sell at a knocked down price and a workforce getting good money to sit on their backsides and waiting for work that is unlikely to come.

They only need to sit on it until 31st October 2019. Allegedly. Then it is happy-days-are-here-again time. Also allegedly.

Until the new buyer decides on Day One, Week One, that it's getting demolished and turned into waterside apartments!

Looks like his luck has held again!

'Alex Salmond has won a £500,000 payout from the Scottish Government over a collapsed internal probe into complaints about his behaviour while First Minister. Opposition MSPs have now stepped up calls for Holyrood to "get to the bottom" of the failed inquiry.'

I think Mr Salmond still has the police case waiting.

I think those politicians and Civil Servants involved should be held financially responsible for their actions. This should not be paid for by Mrs McSpatsstrap and the other taxpayers.

@Dredd It was merely an off the cuff quip my dear boy, wasn't meant to have any factual substance. It's somewhat tiresome posting in here as a YES supporter tbh, being ridiculed and called stupid for your beliefs, rather poor form really. But hey ho, it won't change the eventual outcome.

I'm still waiting on anyone giving a good reason as to why a professional pollster would run and publish statisically insignificant polls...
Its a bit like being a Unionist on Facebook then!

It would seem if you are going down, if you appeal you only have to spend five days inside then sprung free until your appeal is heard
She plead Guilty so if she now says that is untrue then she should also be charged with “Attempting to defeat the ends of justice”, a Scots law version of the innocent Fiona’s charge. But she should still be in the jail!

Has it been pointed out to her that if found guilty after not pleading guilty you get twice the sentence.

What possible argument could she use to over turn her conviction, the police beat the confession out of me, I did not know what I was saying, by brief was rubbish or the court did not like me because I was a women.

Ooooft that's a good looking map. What I can't understand though, SNP bad, SNP smash education, why Scots overwhelmingly vote SNP?

Unicorns and money tree and the socialist promise of it will all be better when the rich pay for your TV and fags.

Look at the options. Seen as the best of a dismal bunch.

FFS man, if you can see that, why not throw your weight behind independence? There would likely be even more viable options across the political spectrum created by independence and the likely split of the SNP

Who would you vote BTW?
