Schoolgirls Heading for Syria

Indeed, pleasantly surprised he had the stones to do it. Hope he's ready for serious inbound from the human rights mob.
I'm a bit shocked he's had the guts, pleased if it's true.

I'm sure they will appeal an infinite number of times and try to get Legal Aid for it, I sincerely hope they're told where to poke both the appeal and the Legal Aid too.
No excuse for terrorism sympathisers and no mercy deserved either. If her family don't like it they're perfectly welcome to feck off out of the country with all their relatives and friends.

Trouble is, all she has to do now is to get a dinghy over from France (and she'll probably get a sponsored trip from the Lefties), claim asylum in UK - and she'll be into a council house even faster than she would have done had she been a returning "Brit".
and say she is from Iran?

As happy as I am about the news, I didn't think we could make people stateless. Is she a dual citizen?

I can't help but feel an appeal, followed by an expensive payout, is forthcoming.

I just got this on my Facebook feed, can’t post the pic, but this is the text:

BBC BREAKING NEWS

Plans are underway to bring Shamina Begum back to the UK.
Cardiff City are arranging the flights. Prince Philip will pick them up from the airport, Kate and Gerry McCann are to adopt the baby, and Diane Abbott is to sort the timetable for it all to happen.

... and Flybmi are providing the aircraft.

Shirley only if she is a British citizen ... which she no longer is .

Ignore .... ETA I see she has a right to appeal ... so you are probably correct .

However I can only hope that the response by the Home Office will be conducted with luke warm interest , tactful derision and a ubiquitous manifestation of courteous but implacable inactivity .
I believe Sir Humphrey called it either masterly inactivity or creative inertia.

TBH the main part of my Post is based on something I read in a book .... once read never forgotten .

She also hold Bangladeshi Citizenship, therefore she is not stateless. She easily meets the threshold for Deprivation of Citizenship and her complete lack of contrition in the media sealed her fate.
Where did you see that? Genuine interest

No you can't we got caught out a while trying to make another two people stateless

UK blocked from making alleged extremists stateless by secret court in ruling that will set precedent

They seem to have based the argument on the idea that she is a dual British-Bangladeshi citizen (having been born there I think) and another that she may have Dual Citizenship but through her marrying a Dutch ISIS member.

Family, & Lawyers now saying she has never held dual citizenship, this is gonna take awhile

Can the Home Secretary prevent Shamina Begum returning to the UK? - BarristerBlogger

What happened in a case just like Shamima Begum’s

I'm on tenderhooks..

You've forgot to copy and paste the text or link.
Didn't forget, the site wouldn't let me post the pic, then it was time to eat and food was more imortant.

Posted the text now, having enjoyed a lovely chorizo pasta bake :)

I hope our esteemed leaders have nailed the legalities of this one and left no grounds for her reptile of a lawyer to appeal.
I'm the eternal pessimist with these cases - I keep thinking about a grand-standing Ed Balls, bigging himself up about the Sharon Shoesmith sacking and then leaving himself wide open for an expensive (and embarrassing) appeal. That one still sticks in the craw!
This one looks a little more promising and I live in hope.
