The dayjob I ended up in (HM Coastguard) means occasionally having to deal with what is known as 6th Sense (Icy dead people). A few years ago I attended an inquest in Portsmouth. As I got in the lift, the deceased canoeists family got in the lift after me. Trying to be suitably respectful and sombre, I failed miserably when pressing the button for the floor where the inquest was to be held. Schindlers Lifts is a GREAT way to ruin the impression of a grown-up I was trying to convey.

If you're a lift walt, you could look out for Porn & Dunwoody.

Yes, it was a real company. In fact, it still is: http://www.pders-lifts.co.uk/pders/history.html although they seem to place less emphasis on Porn these days. Maybe their Woody is finally Dun?
Those were the days when pders did place more emphasis on the Porn part of the business, I often used the services of this company then
WANKUMER BAUSERVICE LIMITED

aahh happy days

'Porn' is a popular Thai girls' nickname. Make of that what you will.

We have a chain of women's clothes shops called 'Wanko' here in Hong Kong which always causes amusement amongst visitors.
